Medsintez Plant LLC presented the latest biotechnological developments of pharmaceuticals at the largest international scientific and practical forum in the field of medicine and health care Russian Health Care Week — 2023 held from December 4 to December 8 in Moscow. The main purpose of the Forum is to facilitate the implementation of the national projects “Healthcare” and “Demography”, “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, the federal project “Development of Medical Services Export”, as well as summarizing the results of the Year of Science and Technology in Medicine.

On September 27, as part of the business program of the GMP conference with international participation, Alexander Petrov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Medsintez Plant LLC, took part in a Plenary Session on the issues of regulating the circulation of medicines in Russia and the EAEU, developing import independence, and increasing export potential. The session was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Nicaragua, the WHO Representative in Russia, a Representative of the Serbian Ministry of Health and other Russian and foreign experts. Mr. Petrov spoke about the problems that Russian pharmaceutical companies face when entering international markets and suggested possible solutions.

It is worth noting that the Plant is located in Novouralsk, a town in the Sverdlovsk region, as is the venue for the event. Today, the Medsintez innovative plant is one of the largest pharmaceutical enterprises in Russia, which specializes in the development and production of medicines, veterinary drugs, medical products and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

From September 10 to 16, 2023, the 7th International Conference “Modern Synthetic Methodologies for Creating Drugs and Functional Materials” (MOSM 2023), dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Academician I.Ya. Postovsky, was held in Ekaterinburg and Perm. The Medsintez Plant took part in the business program of the conference and acted as a sponsor.

From July 10 to 13, the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM – 2023 was held in Ekaterinburg; the Medsintez Plant presented its products at the joint booth of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. As part of the main topic of the exhibition, “Sustainable Production: Strategies for Renewal,” the company demonstrated its readiness to launch Russia’s first production of recombinant drugs, which are currently produced in Russia only by the Medsintez Plant. This year, representatives of the Russian Government headed by Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and heads of foreign delegations visited the exhibition. The delegates got acquainted with the advanced developments of leading Russian enterprises.

Novouralsk celebrates the 20th anniversary of Medsintez Plant LLC, a Russian manufacturer of insulin, the antiviral drug Triazavirin, preparations for IVF treatment, and other medicines. Federal Press reports on how the Sverdlovsk company makes Russian patients independent of supplies from abroad, what challenges it is facing now and what new products it plans to bring to the market.

This year marks 20 years since the nationally renowned Medsintez Plant in the Urals began manufacturing its first preparations. Today it is a modern full-cycle biotechnological enterprise that develops and manufactures pharmaceutical substances and drugs that meet international GMP and ISO standards. There are few pharmaceutical companies in the country that manufacture products meeting such high requirements. Thus, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, as of January 1, 2021, there were only 271 enterprises in Russia with a certificate of compliance with GMP standards.

From May 23 to 26, 2023, the 10th (29th) National Congress of Endocrinologists with international participation Personalized Medicine and Practical Healthcare organized by the Russian Association of Endocrinologists and and the Federal State Budgetary Institution National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of Russia was held in Moscow. Among the leading domestic and foreign pharmaceutical manufacturers the Medsintez Plant as usual presented its main products at the booth – preparations of genetically engineered and analogue human insulin Rosinsulin.

The Medsintez Plant took part in the training seminar Topical Issues of Healthcare, which was held on April 25 at the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The event was attended by over 500 people – heads of healthcare management bodies headed by the Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.

From April 11 to April 14, the fourth International specialized exhibition-forum Healthcare of the Urals – 2023 was held at the Ekaterinburg-Expo IEC, where the booths of the companies participating in the Ural Biomedical Cluster were presented again. 160 manufacturers and suppliers of medical products from 30 cities of Russia, which presented over a thousand pieces of various equipment, took part in the event.

In 2023, the Ural Biomedical Cluster admitted a collective member – the Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Sverdlovsk Region.

On January 31, 2023, a TASS press conference was held dedicated to the joint scientific and technological developments of the Ural State Medical University and industrial enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region. The results of the implementation of the Priority 2030 program in 2022, the cooperation of the university with industrial enterprises of the region, as well as the project for creation of a full-cycle scientific and educational complex for the manufacture of medicines were discussed by Olga Kovtun, rector of USMU, Anatoly Sludnykh, General Director of the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant, and Alexander Petrov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Medsintez Plant.
