Residents of the Ural Biomedical Cluster presented import-substituting products at the exhibition-forum Healthcare of the Urals-2024

Residents of the Ural Biomedical Cluster traditionally took part in the 5th international specialized exhibition-forum Healthcare of the Urals-2024, which took place from April 16 to 19 at the Ekaterinburg-Expo IEC. The event was attended by 160 manufacturers and suppliers of medical products from 34 cities of Russia, presenting over a thousand units of modern medical equipment, consumables, digital technologies for healthcare, services and components for medical equipment.

The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Pavel Krekov, Minister of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region Andrey Karlov, Minister of Industry and Science of the Sverdlovsk Region Sergey Perestoronin, Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region for Social Policy Vyacheslav Pogudin, as well as President of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry Andrey Besedin.

Pavel Krekov greeted the participants of the exhibition-forum and noted the importance of holding the event regularly. «The exhibition has become a landmark. This year, more than 30 regions of the Russian Federation are taking part in it. Here, industry experts can discuss the localization of production, import substitution, issues of healthcare development in both technical and organizational aspects, as well as conclude new contracts and sign agreements,» the Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region noted.

Minister of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region Andrei Karlov read out a welcoming address from the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, noting that the exhibition-forum Healthcare of the Urals makes a tangible contribution to the development of domestic medicine, uniting the efforts of the best experts in the industry to find effective solutions to pressing problems in the field of healthcare.

The companies belonging to the Ural Biomedical Cluster – the Medsintez Plant, Otdel Meditsinskoi Tekhniki, Zavod EMA and RASTER – presented their products at the exhibition booths.

The booth of the pharmaceutical enterprise Medsintez Plant presented its own biotechnological therapeutics: genetically engineered human insulin of the Rosinsulin line and its analogues – Rosinsulin Aspart R and Rosinsulin Glargine – made of its own substances, the first Russian therapeutic of human follicle-stimulating hormone for treatment human infertility Primapur, as well as the latest developments: hypoglycemic drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus – Liraglutide and Semaglutide, the drug of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and the first Russian therapeutics of veterinary insulin Vinsuvet. Also, a wide range of infusion solutions and the original domestic antiviral drug Triazavirin, effective against influenza, ARVI and COVID-19, were presented at the booth. The Medsintez Plant has been ensuring the drug safety of our country for more than 20 years. The production capacities of the company meet 100% of Russia's needs for vital insulin and drugs for the treatment of infertility, as well as provide serious support to the country during epidemics and pandemics of viral infections.

The variety of products attracted the attention of exhibition visitors to the booth of the RASTER company, a developer and manufacturer of disinfectants, skin antiseptics and liquid soap, as well as aerosol equipment for volumetric disinfection. RASTER LLC is part of the RASTER group of companies, which has been specializing in the field of commercial sanitation since 1991. During this time, RASTER has become a major wholesale supplier of modern disinfectants for healthcare facilities, enterprises of collective users and food industry. Along with disinfectants for professional use, the group of companies produces and markets SANITEKA household chemicals.

At one the most notable booth of the exhibition, ZAO Zavod EMA, the leader among manufacturers of LED medical lamps in Russia, presented its products. The company produces equipment for physiotherapy and bactericidal recirculators. The main products of the plant are EMALED medical lamps designed to illuminate the surgical field during surgical operations, diagnostic studies and dressings. The key component of the EMALED line of lamps is LED technology – LED bundles, which, unlike traditional incandescent lamps, are not heat emitters and have high color rendering quality with a service life of up to 60,000 hours. The physiotherapy equipment of Zavod EMA is represented by the Polus line of low-frequency magnetotherapy devices, the electrotherapy device (galvanizer) Potok 1, as well as the ultraviolet stationary irradiator OUFNU.

Medical Association Otdel Meditsinskoi Tekhniki is the largest enterprise in the market of suppliers of medical equipment and consumables at its booth presented a high-tech functional bed designed for use in intensive care units, as well as for general patient care and rehabilitation in other specialized departments. The main products are medical, laboratory, pharmacy furniture, massage tables, medical mattresses, cabinet furniture for doctors' offices, etc. In addition to the production of furniture, the company sells a large amount of equipment, consumables to cover the needs of any healthcare institution. In 2019, the development of projects began to launch the manufacture of plastic medical products: vacuum systems for blood sampling, breathing circuits and filters. In 2022, the construction of a production building for the manufacture and sale of medical devices began on the territory of the Titanium Valley SEZ.

The medical specialists who visited the exhibition showed interest and expressed their gratitude to the residents of the Cluster for the availability, variety and high quality of their products. Manufacturers are actively engaged in import substitution and, even in an unstable economic situation, manufacture products that are in no way inferior to foreign analogues. The production capacities of the enterprises are able to address in full the needs of the region in many of the most socially significant areas of healthcare.
