The Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Sverdlovsk Region, a collective member of the Ural Biomedical Cluster, has participated in the CHEMTECH URAL, first specialised forum and exhibition, held from May 26 to 28 in the Ekaterinburg-EXPO International Exhibition Centre. The organization acted as an industry partner for the event, bringing together key players from the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors of the region at its joint booth.
One of the primary objectives of the forum and exhibition is to establish new cooperation chains and promote domestic technologies within the industry. On behalf of Denis Pasler, the Governor, the exhibition was officially opened by Alexey Shmykov, First Deputy Governor and Minister of Industry and Science of the Sverdlovsk Region, who stated: «I am confident that this project will become a new venue for the industry to hold an open dialogue between business, science, and government.»
The exposition of the Association arouse significant interest among visitors as well as members of professional community. Leading enterprises presented their products at the joint booth, demonstrating a wide spectrum of developments ranging from innovative medicines to specialised chemicals and medical devices.
Medsintez Plant was a key participant at the booth, presenting breakthrough developments. Among them were the world's first registered recombinant human albumin drug, Semaglutide Medsintez for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, Primapur® and hCG for infertility treatment, and the original Russian antiviral drug TRIAZAVIRIN®, including a new 100 mg dosage for children. Furthermore, the company showcased ROSINSULIN ASPART and ROSINSULIN GLARGINE analogue human insulins, as well as VINSUVET, the first Russian veterinary insulins. For over 20 years, Medsintez Plant has been ensuring Russia's drug security, being a reliable partner to the government in import substitution programs.

The RASTER company demonstrated a wide range of specialised products for hygiene and disinfection. Visitors paid particular attention to the Delia, Delia-sept, and Elisept soap lines, which underwent independent expert assessment at the laboratory of ROSSA, Research Institute of Household Chemicals. The company also presented Amand moisturising cream, the DLN elbow dispenser, and the innovative indicator BakteroTest designed for the hygienic control of surface cleanliness and the detection of microbial biofilms.

Uralbiopharm, the largest manufacturer of medicines and dietary supplements in the Urals, which celebrated its 95th anniversary in 2025, participated in the exhibition for the first time as part of the Association's joint exposition. The company presented an updated, wide-ranging line of dietary supplements and the drug Pentaflucin, which holds a 32% market share in the Sverdlovsk Region.

The joint booth also featured the latest developments from Cluster residents – the I. Ya. Postovsky Institute of Organic Synthesis of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Medin-N company. For over 15 years, these organizations have been maintaining close cooperation, yielded in the creation and industrial implementation of advanced synthesis methods for bioabsorbable polymers and the development of new surgical devices based on them. Medin-N is the only enterprise in Russia with a full production cycle of bioabsorbable (resorbable) medical polymers. The enterprise manufactures homo- and copolymers using monomers of its own production (lactides, glycolides, etc.), which are utilized to create next-generation surgical sutures and materials.

The residents of the Ural Biomedical Cluster also participated in the business program of the forum. Representatives of Medsintez Plant LLC, the I. Ya. Postovsky Institute of Organic Synthesis of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ural State Medical University, the cc, and the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin shared their achievements and latest developments.
The participation of the Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Sverdlovsk Region in the CHEMTECH URAL 2026 forum and exhibition marked another significant step in executing its strategy to consolidate the industry community and demonstrate the technological potential of Ural manufacturers. The Association, together with the Ural Biomedical Cluster, continues to play a key role in the development of the medical and pharmaceutical industry in the region, strengthening its position at both the local and federal levels.
