Medsintez Plant Named "Number One" in the Ural Chemical Industry
In May 2026, Medsintez Plant LLC, the leading pharmaceutical enterprise in the Ural region, won the Chemical Industry category at the 10th anniversary of the annual Ural Industrialists and Entrepreneurs «Number One» Awards.
This prestigious award was established by the Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (SOSPP) and the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region. The enterprise received the accolade for its outstanding achievements in developing high-tech pharmaceutical manufacturing, implementing unique innovative technologies, and executing the national import substitution strategy.
Alexander Petrov, Chairman of Medsintez Board of Directors, received the honorary statuette from Igor Gerdt, Head of the Category's Expert Council, and Alexander Porodnov, First Vice-President of SOSPP.
The award ceremony took place during a gala reception hosted by Denis Pasler, Sverdlovsk Region Governor, to celebrate the Russian Entrepreneurship Day. «With this annual award, we recognize companies that have made a significant contribution to the development of the regional economy and the well-being of the Ural people,» said the head of the region.

20 Years at the Forefront of the Country's Drug Safety
Medsintez Plant is a modern, full-cycle biotechnology company that has been ensuring Russia's drug safety for over 20 years. Ensuring the Accessibility of Insulin Therapy
The company is a flagship of the Russian insulin revolution. It was here in 2008 that the country's first production of genetically engineered human insulin was launched in compliance with international GMP regulations. Today, Medsintez Plant manages the full cycle production of the entire ROSINSULIN drug line from its own active substance, utilizing patented syringe pens developed in-house. Together with the Promomed Group, the company established the production of hypoglycemic agents based on Liraglutide and Semaglutide, effectively covering the shortage for patients with type 2 diabetes.
Development of Reproductive Technologies
As part of the state demographic policy, Medsintez Plant, in cooperation with IVFarma LLC, manufactures Primapur® – the first Russian recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) helping tens of thousands of long-awaited children to be born. The production capacity of the plant can cover up to 200% of the market demand. The company plans to complete the development of a full range of drugs for IVF, including HCG and Cetrorelix.
Innovative Antiviral Drugs
The plant played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic. The original Russian drug TRIAZAVIRIN®, manufactured by the company, became the only direct-acting antiviral medication approved by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for both the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. More than 2.5 million patients have received therapy using this drug. Furthermore, in 2025, a new dosage of TRIAZAVIRIN® (100 mg) was registered for children aged 6–17. Thus, pediatricians have obtained a new drug for the treatment of ARVI in children that targets the underlying cause of the disease.
A Look into the Future
Receiving the «Number One» award is not only an acknowledgement of past achievements but also a recognition of the company's high growth potential. Currently, Medsintez Plant is actively expanding its manufacturing operations by reconstructing its production workshops. This project will increase output by 60% (up to 55 million units per year) and enable the launch of new pharmaceutical products.
